๐ Medical Books Library
Classic public-domain medical texts โ from Gray-era anatomy to the story of the microbe hunters. Free, readable chapter by chapter.
This library collects eight medical classics whose copyright has expired, kept here because they are genuinely useful to read: they show how physicians of the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries reasoned about the body, infection, surgery and public health, in their own words. Several are foundational โ Microbe Hunters popularised the germ-theory pioneers, Metchnikoff's Immunity in Infective Diseases set out early cellular immunology, and Fuller's Medicina Gymnastica (1705) argued for therapeutic exercise two centuries before modern physiotherapy existed.
Every book is free to read online. There is no account, no download and no paywall: open a title, browse its contents, and read chapter by chapter in the browser. You can also quote, print or teach from any of them โ they are in the public domain.
